Hi,

I'm not currently sure whether or not StarBurnX actually cares about the burn speed I set.
I'm burning a 617.756.672 byte sized ISO file, which is located on a local SSD (so the source is pretty fast). Speed results:

- 10x (1765 KB/s), lowest speed available: 5:36
- 24x (4234 KB/s), fastest speed available: 5:27

So basically, it's the same burning speed. Does StarBurnX care at all? I'm setting the property "WriteSpeed" of the ImageBurner class, using SDK v12.

I'm investigating, because users of my application continuously report similar problems. Usually it's the opposite though: It always uses the maximum writing speed (and doesn't slow down).

First of all we need the logs. So I need to see is the requested speed actually set. Also please give a try to the other burning tools (from the different BIG vendor) to make sure it's not "drive + media" issue.

I don't really feel like installing this BIG software package from the BIG vendor on my computer, will do so within a VM and post the results.
So far the log.
What actually is the "drive + media" issue?

Log is OK. Speed is set... Could you please give a try to our pre-built console sample say TrackAtOnceFromFile to isolate StarBurnX issue? Thanks!

I did some tests with Nero now. I needed to use a different device for that purpose, but it's still possible to reproduce.

Nero:
48x: ~2:40
16x: ~4:30

StarBurnX:
48x: ~2:28
16x: ~2:27

Again, I attached a log file which contains the information about the two burning processes with different speeds.

And, erm, I really don't feel like messing with the console samples again. Please give me some command line instructions I can copy and paste into the console. I don't see how I can configure it using different speeds.

If you don't want to mess with console or C++ GUI core samples that's no problem! So we'll check the issue when we'll have some free time.

Well, the GUI sample is not a problem to test:

ImgBurnerSample:
48x: ~2:30
16x: ~4:40

Excellent! I've found a place in Dima's wrapper code where he has wrong sequence of calls. Expect to have fixed version early next week.

Will you post a download link or will it be announced officially?

Hm...so not "tomorrow" as it seems. Or did someone post a download link and I missed it?

Yes, exactly. Double-check your mail.

Didn't get any e-mail regarding StarBurnX as far as I can see (except for topic reply notifications). To which e-mail address did you send it?
