#1 Burning Software

Starburn says our discs (BD-R 2x) can be written at 8991 KB/s.
We made a "real world" test reading from a RAID-5 hard-disc that can do 200 MB/s in reading. The result was about 7.6 MB/s. I suppose this is the best speed we can reach. Can you confirm? Is RAID-5 speed enough?

Using slower discs (80MB/s) write speed get worse and become variable (from 4.0 to 6.5 MB/s). Is this a reliable context to burn? In this situation without buffer underrun protection every burn operation would fail?

You have improperly configured system. Read speeds from hard disks is too slow...

Do you refer to the second situation? Can you suggest a minimum hd read speed for reliable burning (BD 2x)?

Fix disk I/O subsystem. You're not going to have reliable solution in any case. With any BD speed.
