Hello,

i try your great suite, but don't understand some parts and hope you can help me.

First i have some problems using the CdvdBurnerGrabber_GrabCD function. As you write into help file, this function should store the CD into MDS; but there isn't a MDS created (using GrabCD example), it's just stored into ISO. Is there a flag to tell the function, that the CD should store into ISO or MDS? Or is there another function for doing the job?

At next i need to know, if the StarPort_DeviceAddLocal can use MDS file as source files or only ISO. I try to map an Alc120% created MDS and this doesn't work, but maybe it's only a limitation of the StarPort Lite Example. If this doesn't work ... How can i map the grabbed CD? Because there isn't a converter between ISO and MDS inside your suite.

At last there is a function called StarPort_DeviceListQueryLocal. What happens, if there are more products on a pc using StarPort? Can the "other application" see my created device?

That's all for the moment :)
Paul

1) You can burn MDS with our RAW SAO + SUB burning API. SessionAtOnceRawRawPW.

2) "Does not work" what do you mean under that? Alcohol refuses to mount MDS or is created disc unreadable?

3) Different applications share the same StarPort driver. We're working on using different instances so there will be no collision.
As our software gets more and more popular this starts to become a problem :)

Thanks a lot for your fast answers.

Ok, i need to use GrabCD for building ISO and SessionAtOnceRawRawPW for building MDS?

I create an MDS using current Alcohol 120% (just a Office CD :)). At next i start your StarPort Example and try to select the created MDS as source file for the drive. First i can only select ISO files. If i cange the extension to *.MDS or *.MDF, i see the MDS files. After selecting i can't map, i only the the error "An error occured". But because i can't convert the MDF to ISO, how can i bind the MDS?

Maybe you can use the Serial Key the calling process is using; every virtual drive is bind with the current serial.

StarPort can mount only DVD images in MDS format.

But StarPort has its own interface, StarPort Lite not. So i need this functionality for SDK.

I know ... But my question was if it is possible to bind a MDS/MDF file using embedded StarPort Lite. Currently StarPort Lite and your example only support ISO files, not MDS/MDF; as you wrote i can create MDS/MDF, but i can't work with this files using StarPort Lite.

They both support MDS images for DVDs.

Hmmmm, i can't find where's a difference between Data MDS and DVD MDS at Google, but i'll try to find out.

Last question: If i order StarBurn SDK, there is a *** at the order form section "Virtual DVD Emulator". What do you mean with "Only allowed for internal company use. Redistribution to the third-parties allowed under special conditions."? Can we install the Emulator driver with our setup or not? Is Emulator included or not and can we legally install it at the users PC? I can't find more information ...

MDS is private closed format so I don't think you'll find anything.

Thank you for pointing, we'll revisit the page next week. There are no limitations for StarPort Lite distribution any more.

We do support Data MDS actually... Also I feel there's kind of misunderstanding so please drop me a message to anton@rocketdivision.com so we could sort it out. It's looks it's something political rather then technical so I don't want to do it on public forum. Thanks!
