Hi,

a user reported an "Internal SDK error" when burning an audio disc with StarBurnX 13.3. I attached the log file for details. Could you tell me what the issue is here?

Best regards,
Florian

Hello,

The "illegal mode for this track" error happened!

The possible causses of this problem:
1) The CD Writer has problems writing on the CD-R/RW media. The CD-R itself is not clean or is of bad quality ( please resort to another brand mark of CD-R/RW );

2) The power supply of your computer is not providing enough power. If You are using an external device please check the power supply ( numerous graphics cards require a lot of power, the same goes for numerous CPUs and some harddisks);

3) The mains cable or the plug is defective. Please use another plug cable for test purposes;

4) The computer vibrates to such an extent that the laser can not stay in the track;

5) The device has become hot! Only operate in cool conditions;

6) The lens of the write laser is dirty;

There is the firmware update utility for the Hitachi device: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/swu-download.pl?mdl=VPCEG3BFXW&upd_id=7427&os_group_id=6

Best Regards,

Dmitry

Hello,

No, seems these issues are different! Current issue - "Unknown CRC-ECC error" ... probably some sort of copy protection [ grabing track #20 was failed] ... or disc is die :)

Regards,

Dmitry

OK, thanks.

At this point please let me once again remind you of your, if you will pardon the expression, crappy error messages. If everything is an "internal SDK error", how should my application ever display some proper messages to the user? I'd save me and you a lot of time if I could display a meaningful text when an error happens. Sending over a log file and getting it checked by you is not very efficient.

Could you please consider providing more specific error codes and error texts for your exceptions? I need better error codes to provide translated specific error messages and I also need a description of all errors that can happen, their possible cause / meaning and resolution.

Another one...when I try to burn the same audio files as the user does, it works fine for me. Please provide some hints for this issue.
