Erasing a DVD with 3GB+ of data should not finish within 2 minutes. A "full" erase should overwrite the whole content of the disc from start to finish, which should take rather 10 minutes. I guess StarBurn doesn't erase enough.

This is a problem a user reported to me (though I got such reports repeatedly), so I hope that the log file will suffice.

This is partially written DVD+RW. So we erase used region and start background formatting. That's all...

Partially...but isn't that "partially" actually 3GB or more?

I've re-checked the log and it's completely pre-formatted media. OK, let us have a closer look at this issue.

We've checked and we do indeed overwrite only first 32KB of the disc ALWAYS (does not matter do we have FULL or FAST erase asked). It's not data loss or crash so we'll fix this with the official release.

If confidential data is exposed after it has been supposedly deleted it's just as critical as loss of data in my opinion.

It's still not data loss or crash so we'll fix this one in the new development branch.

I've recently read something about V13 being released "really soon" - so has this issue been addressed yet?

Ah, I just noticed that you actually released V13 silently without telling me. So is this issue fixed in V13? How can I upgrade to V13?

It's not SDK. It's core StarBurn. StarBurn SDK V13 should follow soon.

I know that you are also busy with other stuff, but since the StarBurn.dll I got now has version "13" and I keep getting asked about this issue quite often, do you see a chance to make a quick fix here? Doesn't seem like a big deal to me, correct me if I'm wrong ;)

Hello,

Does the latest build still not erase DVD+RW disc properly?

Regards,

Dmitry
