Hi,

a user reported the issue to me that the app Cathy (http://www.mtg.sk/rva/) considers all discs burned by StarBurnX to be the same, probably identifying them using the disc serial number.

Could it be that StarBurnX always uses the same serial number (which is 99BA-28F2 in my case)? (The Windows integrated burning feature does not seem to do that). If so, could you please fix that or allow me to set a custom serial number?

Thanks.

Hello,

How do you get this serial number?

Open cathy.exe, go to the "Catalog" tab, select the drive letter and click "Add". It will then show the serial number.

Hello,

We have investigated this issue!

1) ISO works well, UDF 2.0 -2.6 works well on our test environment!
2) "..the serial number is NOT on the disc at ALL, Windows generates the serial number using some algorithm! Serial number is a value calculated from the disk's creation date and time ( + CRC etc :))!!!" So .. all works well on Windows 7 ... at least the "Far manager" utility (http://www.farmanager.com/download.php?l=en) displays the valid value of the volume "Serial Number"!!

Regards,

Dmitry
