Post subject:  Gaps in gapless / DAO disc

Hi,

a user reported that the disc he burned has very small gaps between the tracks, even when burning in DAO mode (also in v. 13.3).
Can you check the attached log file for a reason?

Best regards,
Florian

I don't see any issues. Make him read the TOC and report track-to-track sizes. It could be pauses are actually embedded to track content so there are NO pauses recorded but they are present if disc is played in sequential mode (tracks one-by-one).

The tracks does not seem to have any silence itself. He uploaded thr tracks at https://forum.cdburnerxp.se/topic/9079-output-mix-cd-has-slight-jump-between-tracks/#entry34750

OK, so now I need the TOC information trace from recorded disc.

GetTOCInformation(...) or corresponding StarBurnX call (Dima, advice please?)

Hello,

Sorry, but you can't read the TOC from StarBurnX :(

I will add this feature into the "implementation" lits

Dmitry

Anything else I can do so that you can diagnose what the issue is?

Pre-build StarBurn GetTOCInformation console sample should do the trick as well.

Which sample would that be? Can't find such sample in the Bin\Samples folder.

Guys, I'm an idiot :( With StarBurn implementation DAO engines (DAO16 and DAO96) ALWAYS burn tracks w/o pause between them (this is actually considered a feature and not a bug). So there are few possible ways to go:

1) Switch to SAO or TAO. They do insert 2 second track-to-track pause automatically.

2) Add padding to each audio track recorded. Then you'll have artificial pauses (playing but not reported with TOC).

Erm....you got it wrong.

The user complains about the existence of gaps, which should indeed not be present with DAO.

OK, so I was correct initially. There should be NO gaps with DAO. Andrew will give you an utility to check it.
