Should I expect an issue with creating MDF images of "multisession" DVDs using StarBurn_CdvdBurnerGrabber_GrabDVD?

Hello,

Yes, you should use this function to grab a dvd disc into ".mds" file.

It appears that StarBurn_CdvdBurnerGrabber_GrabDVD() has a bug in it then. When I attempt to rip a multisession DVD to disk with this function it creates the specified MDS/MDF files, but they have several problems. First of all, they are far too small to contain all the data (i.e., the total disc size is 2.4GB, but the image created is only 650MB, about the size of the first session on the disc). Secondly, they do not appear to be valid, as tools such as Daemon-tools refuse to mount/process them.

Hello,

1) Which value do you pass in the p__LONG__SplitFileSizeInMBs param? Try to set a big value ( 9gb for example );

2) We should look into the StarBurn log file!:) Call the StarBurn_UpStartExEx function and pass a log settings!

I started off using 0 for p__LONG__SplitFileSizeInMBs since the documentation isn't very clear about how it works I was hoping that would force it to not do any file splitting at all. I also tried 0xFFFFFFFF. Both of those resulted in file splits so I ended up using 16384. The full call looks like this:

result = StarBurn_CdvdBurnerGrabber_GrabDVD(m_Handle, textresult, sizeof(textresult), &sysresult, &cdbinfo, name, 16384, 3, FALSE, FALSE, 1);

I have attached the requested log file in zip form.

We have tested this feature here - all works fine!!

Which version of SDK do you use? It seems your log file is not a full log so we cannot detect the actual version of your SDK!

That log was generated using version 12.0.0.272.

Hello,

So, we have investigated this issue - the "full "mds file ( with a multiple tracks ) will be generated for the CD media only :( For DVD media only one (first) track will be grabbed!

Dmitry,

Would it be possible to provide me with the source code for the GrabDVD function so that I can patch it to generate valid MD* files? I don't relish the idea of starting from scratch...
