Post subject:  Max File Size

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick question regarding the maximum file size for Blu-ray media.

I'm working with the evaluation version (12.0.0.272) of the new Starburn SDK and I am having some difficulties burning a large file to a data blu-ray disc and was wondering if there was a maximum file size for blu-ray discs?

I am using the StarBurn_ISO9660JolietFileTree_Create() and StarBurn_ISO9660JolietFileTree_Add() functions to add two 8GB files, and they keep triggering CN_FILE_TREE_PROGRESS_IGNORE in my test.

Is it possible to burn files this large using this method? Or is there another method that should be used? I am trying to create a Blu-ray data disc and not a Blu-ray video disc, so I'm not sure if the UDF file system information applies to me.

Thanks in advance, I tried to search the forums for the max file size, but the search terms were too common.

Hello,

You are trying to make ISO9660 formatted disc, a file on this disc cannot be larger than ~4Gb (2^32 )!
If you wish to use file(s) larger than 4 Gb you should make UDF formatted disc.

Look into UDF2BuildBurn sample from the SDK installation.
