I am using StarBurnX Version 10.0.0.1 ( Build 2008-07-14 ) .NET Samples.

I am using a DataBurner class. Using dataBurner.addFile(...) method, I am trying to add a file of size more than 5 GB, but it neither adds that file nor throws any exception. Is it so that we can't add files of size more 5 GB to burn. I want to burn these files on a dual layer DVD disc.
Will you please kindly tell me, What might be the problem for addition of these types of files ?

Thank you in advance. Is the version 10.5 released, it's been so long we are waiting for the release. If possible can we get a pre-release build ?

Hello,

As the length of a file's extent on disk is stored in a 32 bit value, it allows for a maximum length of 4 GiB!!

Try to use the UDFDataBurner!!:)

Dmitry

Hello Support
Thanks for reply.

OK. So what if I want to add a file of size more than 5 GB and burn those onto the disc of size 8.3 GB. So it is not possible in DataBurner as it uses ISO 9660 file system.

Alternatively, I can use UDFDataBurner to do the same. Is it so?

Hello,

You CAN'T add a file of size more than 4 gb if you use the ISO 9660 or ISO 9660 + Joliette file systems! Note that DataBurner uses the ISO 9660 + Jolitte file system!!!

So the right way is - "use the UDFDataBurner". However the last official release of the StarBurnX (10.5 ) contains the cut-down version of import sessions ... in fact you can't change and can't browse the contents of the imported session! We will include the full version of the import sessions in the next version of StarBurnX.

Regards,

Dmitry
