I keep running across suggestions on the net about backing up a person's hard drive by burning an image to disc. After having my computer crash once and needing to perform a recovery recently, I am seriously considering any alternative to preserve my data. Unfortunately I am not very tech savvy. Can anyone please point me in the right direction for a tutorial on how to do this. I assume that Starburn is capable of this since you can use it to build an image and burn it to disc. Thank you for your help. |

Look at Acronis or Paragon Software tools. In your case actual burning is probably 5% of the task. frique wrote: I keep running across suggestions on the net about backing up a person's hard drive by burning an image to disc. Drive Backup uses our burning engine so basically you'll have the same burning code |

Hello Sir, So can Starburn backup whole drive exactly like what Acronis[drive backup] does and makes tib backup file of 7 GB for 10 GB drive contents? I would like to use this. Thank you. |

No and no plans to have this done. Burning is VERY small part of the backup process. The most critical thing is to create ALIVE snapshot. With all open files closed and all caches written to the disk. Quite far away from the whole burning SDK point of view... |
