Hi,

I'm suing a installer to distribute my app and I have no problems registering COM libraries. However wend it comes to register StarBurnX12.dll trough the installer it always give errors. In the installation folder are:

1. RocketDivision.StarBurnX12.Interop.dll
2. StarBurn.dll
3. StarBurnX12.dll

I try to register the StarBurnX12.dll after all files has been install into the destination folder. If I run the Regserver32.dll manually it works fin bit I can aspect that the users will do this. What I can't explain is that all my other COM libraries have no problem to register only StarBurnX12.dll.

I'm running on Windows 7 Ultimate, The installer is running in Elevation mode and I'm using Smart Installer (http://www.sminstall.com/). Is there any chance that StarBurn would supply a mini-installer that could be included with a installation and executed withing the Main installer as it seams that the StarBurn installer is registering this files properly and we would not only solve my problem but almost all installation and registration problems.

Any help is appreciated.

Dima will take a look why you have issues registering and we'll also consider an opportunity to have such a mini-install. Definitely makes sense, thank you very much for pointing!

Hello,

Hmm ... the small installer ... why not :) ... but at the first we must investigate why COM activation via manifest does not work properly!!

Regards,

Dmitry

Great...

So what can I do to help.

I need to get my app out and I'm stuck because of this problem.

Is there no chance first to do the installer and then have a look at the COM problem, at lest it will keep a lot of people going and solve my problem to.

Cheers

Currently you're the only one with this issue so far that's why we'd like to investigate your case a little bit rather then creating any kind of a custom solution or workaround.
