We have a DVD burner program written with the StarBurn SDK. Based on the DVD specifications I allow a maximum of 31 characters to be used for the volume label. However I have a customer who is complaining that his long volume names are actually getting truncated to just 15 characters. Is there a limitation in StarBurn that is truncating the volume name to just 15 characters? If it matters I use the StarBurn_DVDVideo_Create function to create the DVD tree then I use StarBurn_CdvdBurnerGrabber_TrackAtOnceFromTree to burn it.

I just need to know if this is a limitation of StarBurn or something I'm doing wrong.

No, you do everything correctly.

15 characters + terminating zero symbol.

As it was coded back in 2003 or so I don't even remember why we did so :)

Any chance we could get it bumped to the 31 allowed by the standard in the next release?

I don't think so... It's quite a lot of code and next release is planned for the next week.

OK I thought it would be a simple fix. Can you at least put it on your feature request list for a future version?

Fix is simple, walking down the mirriads of the code lines is not...\

Sure!
