I received the updated version and the discs play in VLC without a problem.

Most commercial DVDs are encrypted with CSS (the Content Scrambling System), which attempts to restrict the software that can play a DVD. By installing the libdvdcss2 package you can play encrypted DVDs with VLC media Player.Thanks for sharing information!

There's a bug in your software (referenced CSS library) we've workarounded inside StarBurn. You don't parse UDF file chain properly and crash if there's a extent with zero size (it's perfectly OK to have one).

I am also getting a same problem. my VLC player is not playing dvds, i downloaded it because my normal dvd player application wouldnt let me change the drive region code.( in VLC) i click on file ,open disk,dvd and it selects it and the view window comes up but then it quits without playing the movie.

Same problem - same solution. Upgrade SDK engine as we've fixed this issue (OK, workarounded) quite a while ago.
