Hello Support,

1) I am using StarBurnX. Studying DataBurner VB.NET sample.
2) Can we add files from Removable CD/DVD media like CD/DVD device? Yes in current sample it does add those files.
3) But then if the source CD/DVD device is removed then Application crashes. Burn process aborted automatically.
4) I think, it will be better if these files will be skipped while adding only and prompting user to copy these files on File System and then add for burning.
5) Other wise you might be getting errors but could not figure out the source. Why?
Can this be implemented? I think while addition of each file to object you can check for it's root directory by IO.Path.GetRootDirectory(filePath) and then proceed further.

Am I clear with my suggestion? Thank you in advance. :)

Lock the files you're opening. There's a setting with StarBurnX.

Hello Sir,
1) I am using locking mechanism properly for all the File System Folders and Folders. It works!!!
2) But for files/folders from CD/DVD device. After addition of files if disc is ejected and then burn process started or building ISO image process started then I am getting following error as:

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040255): WIN32 error:
CStarBurn_DiskFile::RealRead(): ReadFile() failed, status 34!!!
at RocketDivision.StarBurnX.DataBurnerClass.SaveImageFile(String FileName, String VolumeName, String PublisherName, String ApplicationName)

I am attaching detailed debug logs.
Thank you Sir.

The disc is GONE. You cannot read from it. What do you expect us to do?

Hello Sir,

1) Yes Sir. I am agree with you, but here burn or image creation process is aborted because of this.
2) Where as in other softwares if any file or folder is not found before burning, they are skipping those files and then proceeding to next file for burn, more importantly burn process is not aborted. Even list of files skipped is displayed in event log.
3) So I think not adding these files will obviously solve the issue which is not going to occur by this solution. Now a days many softwares asks to copy these kind of files to FileSystem and then only they are adding for burn.
4) Can I expect somewhat similar kind of behaviour by not adding these kind of files and just raising an event and not adding files. Am I clear with the suggestion?
5) I think this will solve any problem which may occur if any software is using drive and at the same time in StarBurn addition of these items is done, then application may hang until handle of drive is closed from other software.
6) I want StarBurnX to skip files from CD/DVD device.

Thank you Sir.

I don't understand what you want us to do. You want to re-burn some files from one CD/DVD to the other? And don't want us to do this? How do you expect us? Check file system time and if it's "CDFS" stop adding content?
