I have a XP home SP2.

I have a DVD-RW Drive(F:) (Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-109 1.09) I have DVD+RW Disks.
And a Sony CD-RW CRX220E1 SYS1 (D:)

I used it to burn some Pictures to DVD+RW Disks.

But when I played it on another DVD Player (Samsung DVD-VHS Dual Deck DVD-V4600) it would not play. It plays a Sony CD-RW disk with the same Pictures it it.

I used to use the CD for Pictures and Songs only. Nero 6 Ultra Edition 6.6.1.4 was the recorder I used.
I did not use it for DVD Burner until I got some DVD-+RW last Friday.

But I have managed to mess up 4 DVD+RW discs trying to burn
pictures.

Then I used InfraRecorder to mess up another DVD+RW disc.

CDBurnerXP version 4.0 (or above) requires the .Net Framework. Please
Download and install the .net Framework V2.0 or V3.0 and run this setup again
I don't have either version, I don't use Microsoft Personal Web Server.
So I stopped setup.

Then I used StarBurn to burn some Pictures.
I then saw the Pictures on the DVD.

But when I played it on another DVD Player (Samsung DVD-VHS Dual Deck DVD-V4600) it would not play.

It said This Disk cannot be played.
Please Check the Disk.

The CD-RW Played

Now the DVD+RW is named New(F:) Not the DVD-RW Drive(F:) it was.

Help Please.

I tried StarBurn to add some Text to the DVD today.
I then saw the Pictures and Text on the DVD I burned today.
BTW I checked the DVD-RW Drive(F:) it was back to what it was. not New(F:)

I had Data Wizard showing Vol Info. (F:)new. Used Space is 87.50Mb and Free Space 4395.12MB

Files(s) and Files Selection
Files Tree to burn on Data CD/DVD/Blu-Ray/HD-DVD.
Disc label: new
and then -\
+ CANAAN CAMPER CLUB

Then on the Right

Add File(s)
Add Dir...
New Dir...
Rename....
Remove is blacked out
Remove All

I removed a text file after I looked at CANAAN CAMPER CLUB

Burning Mode is Track-At-Once

Create Mulisession Disc is checked

But when I played it on another DVD Player (Samsung DVD-VHS Dual Deck DVD-V4600) it would not play.

It said This Disk cannot be played.
Please Check the Disk.

The CD-RW Played

I can add a couple of film clips that Wife shot a couple of years ago.

Camping Pictures\Movies are MPG
19.5 MB (20,460,840 bytes)
1.47 MB (1,542,148 bytes)

But I will need to Burn Vidio. I have used Pictures .JPG and text.

How do I Burn Vidio?

14:56:04 : Source DVD Video directory: "C:\CANAAN CAMPER CLUB"
14:56:04 : Destination device: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109
14:56:04 : Started
14:56:04 : Creating DVD-Video file system failed!
14:56:07 : Eject

Hi Johnboy32,

I just wante to tell you, that I got the same error and the problem is that you don't have to select "C:\CANAAN CAMPER CLUB" but "C:\CANAAN CAMPER CLUB\VIDEO_TS" as source directory for a dvd video. If you don't have a VIDEO_TS directory yet, you have to pre-master your video, for instance by using the free Software "GUI for dvdauthor". Hope that helps!

The other problem may be due to the DVD+RW you use. Some players are just picky, and the fact that it accepted CD-RW is no indication it will accept DVD+RW, so I guess that may be the problem. (Other option is that you did not close your session, but I guess that's not the problem.)

Bya!
Peter

I dled "GUI for dvdauthor", installed it. Need more help. A lot of help.

I started with Author DVD. but whats DVD Format: NTSC or Pal?

File - Author DVD then DVDAuthorGUI project file(*.dva) What should I call it? What next?

I don't know what I am doing.

You are the first persom to talk me.

I will talk to anyone who talks to me.
I don't know anything about what goes on to use a DVD Player
I was using a Player because I had one to test with.

But first I need to know How to Burn. I know a CD works. But thats all I know.

Bya!
Peter

Excuse the short reply, I'm in a hurry. Just wanted to tell you that the format is NTSC for the United States. I haven't worked with AuthorDVD yet.

Best regards,
Peter

I used NTSC

I tried Author DVD then DVDAuthorGUI saids Please add more titles

I went to CANAAN CAMPER CLUB and tried CCC

DVDAuthorGUI saids Nav Packets are not Detected in CCC.vob. Please demultiplex. What? How do I demultiplex?
I then tried mpeg elemertry stream(*m2v, *m1v,*.mpv)
It said CCC.vob is used so I used CC. it then saids
audio stream(*.ac3, *.mp2, *mpa, *.m2a) and wants another file. ok, I name it to C.

it saids 1 titles loaded
title1:CC.m2v/C.ac3
then saids C:\CANAAN CAMPER CLUB\C.ac3 appears to be missing.

and 1 titles loaded is missing.

I don't know if movies has sound or not. I can't hear anything. Deaf.
I also have a stroke from 92 or 94. Use one hand and use a scooter when I need to walk very far.

Now what do I Do?

I have a volunteer mission Printing trip tomorrow. Wife and I collated
till about 1:15 then a guy from Church is coming over to see if He can help me. CANAAN CAMPER CLUB is another group that I go camping with once a mouth.

I don't what DVD Burner He uses.

I still have Nero, InfraRecorder, and StarBurn. I never heard for anyone but Peter.

I really don't understand what you're trying to do here. Just burn DVD to watch pictures from it? In such a case you don't need DVD-Video, just burn a plain old Data DVD with your Pictures folder on it. If your DVD player has the feature to recognize such a format (most of the modern do) it will work just fine.

Unfortunately we cannot help with DVD Author software here as we did not wrote it. Try developers' site...

Anton,

I had trouble since I wanted to burn a DVD.

I started trying to burn a DVD+RW with Pictures using Data.

Could not do it. I asked Nero because I didn't have Help. They didn't include a help manual with the software.

I asked support. they said later.
I then found a Help manual 159 pages.

The manual said
</snip>
7.10.2 Creating a simple CD

Now let’s take a step-by-step look at how to create a CD with images using Nero: All settings may be left at their default values.
</snip>

I had a CD and a DVD when I got Nero.

I burned a CD for long time I did not try burning to a DVD.

I could not undersand the manual.

I asked support. they said later.

A few days later I tried InfraRecorder. Still could not understand.
and no help.

after that, I tried another Burner, free.
I didn't get past the install.

then I tried StarBurn.

I finally got some Help.

Phil said It may be the DVD Player I was using.
By then I was ready to try a couple of film clips

Now, What do you suggest.

I can try some more DVD Players if I can find out how to burn.

If you're burning generic Data DVD with Pictures and you can see the content on the other machine (so we know for sure the disc was recorded OK) then it's only DVD player refusing to do slide show from DVD. I'd suggest you to give a try to either other DVD burning software or another DVD player. If another app created DVD will still not work - it's definitely something wrong with the stand alone DVD player...
