It's just write error (0C/00 WRITE ERROR).
Possible it's bad uncompatible pare of drive and media.

According to the user though, earlier versions of StarBurn have worked just fine. Any explanation for this? Or do you need an exact version number?

Can you ask him to try same drive and discs with older version?
