Hi,

one user reported that my application hangs at startup, but works fine in SPTD mode.
He sent an error log: http://forum.cdburnerxp.se/viewtopic.php?p=38976#p38976 that shows how StarBurn has 5000 attempts at executing an operation. Wouldn't it be suitable to reduce the attempts to at least prevent the impression of not being responding? I'd prefer an error message in that case, after a reasonable amount of retries (5000 does not seem reasonable).
I believe we have had a discussion about a similar issue earlier, but I can't find a reference to it currently.

Don't get me wrong, it's fine if SPTD is working when SPTI fails, but failure should be more obvious!

Thanks,
Florian

Hm, I thought of another thread actually. But is it feasible to reduce the number of retries?

1) Yes, but it's not going to fix broken software co-existing with our component. We send command and never get response back. That's the problem.

2) We'll make command re-execution delay somehow changeable. That's doable and going to fix at least freeze issue.
